Biography:

Eva Kellner recently completed her Bachelor of Arts and Science in Environment at 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ. Inspired by her participation in 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ’s East Africa Field Study Semester, Eva’s undergraduate thesis was a comparative, qualitative study looking at perceptions of climate change among students at 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ and students at Tanzania’s Sokoine University of Agriculture.

Eva became interested in science communication after taking a science communication course in her third year at 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ. This interest only grew while writing her thesis, as Eva developed a passion for combining traditional storytelling with empirical science. Eva joined 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ’s Office of Science and Society (OSS) in May of 2025 with the intention of honing in her skills to turn complex scientific phenomena into narrative-driven stories. Her specific research interest concern climate resilience among those living in cities, specifically through the lens of urban green spaces, urban agriculture, and outdoor community spaces.

At 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ, Eva was the co-president of the 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ Environment Student Society (MESS), a 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ Open House Ambassador, and contributed to global health research as a 91µ¼º½ÊÓƵ Global Health Scholar. When she’s not writing, you may find Eva on the soccer field kicking a ball around with her friends, playing cards in the park, or exploring new food spots in Montreal!
